Molecular sieve is a material containing tiny pores of a precise and uniform size that is used
as an absorbent for gases and liquids.
Molecular sieves are often utilized in the petroleum industry, especially for the purification
of gas streams and in the chemistry laboratory for separating compounds and drying
reaction starting materials. The mercury content of natural gas is extremely harmful to the
aluminium piping and other parts of the liquefaction apparatus silica gel is used in this case.
Molecular sieve is a kind of crystallized aluminosilicate . Owing to its even pore diameter and high specific surface areas , it has many excellent features .
A, Selecative adsorption , it can sbsorb the molecules of which the diameter is less than the pore size of molecular sieves.
B, As for polar molecular and unsaturated molecular , it has selective adsorption , the bigger the polarity m the higher unsaturated ratio , the stronger selective adsorption .
C, Strong property of water absorption even in high temperature , large space velocity or low content of water , it has quite a higher water absorption capacity .
